A mad idea

How shocked would you be if I had a mad idea? Glenn at Dinah’s Beach is looking to sell a 40’ motorboat. Apparently it needs only a small amount of work to be seaworthy… except for the small issue of it having no motor. So… what if I buy Glenn’s boat, find a motor, build a Dinah’s Beach project team around getting it ship-shape (boom!boom!), and then hire a captain to sail the day journey to Timor with both me and my bike on board, and the day return back to Darwin without me. I can then sell the boat when it’s got me where I need to be. Or… keep it. I will need accomodation on my return anyway. Why not on the boat that got me to Timor? Sail it to Melbourne after I’m done with my biking adventure? Yes, it’s a mad idea. But then so was “riding from Melbourne to London”. Just sayin’. Those that know me know that these aren’t my first mad ideas and they won’t be my last. Let’s see if the morning brings a measure of sanity.
